Northern California Golden Gate Swedish Genealogy Club is the bridge to your Swedish ancestors' homeland and culture, by promoting Swedish genealogy and heritage. The meetings are seminars or questions and answers.

Golden Gate promotes and coordinates events and interest in Nordic culture and heritage all over Northern California
Local lodges (social clubs)
There are lodges all over northern California. They arrange social and cultural events to promote Nordic cuture and heritage. At a lot of the events a traditional Scandinavian dinner is served followed by a cultural program.
Children's clubs
Children have fun, make friends and learn all about singing in Swedish, Folk Dancing, Crafts, Customs and traditions.
Scholarships
There are many scholarships available from grand, district and local lodges. The scholarships are available to members of lodges in the district.
Sweden Day
We celebrate Sweden Day “Sveriges Nationaldag” on the Saturday before June 6. We celebrate with traditional singing and raising the Swedish flag followed by a lot of activities and games for all ages.

Lucia
Many lodges celebrate Lucia in December. If you want to celebrate Lucia, please contact a Local lodge to get information on when and where they celebrate Lucia.
Folk Dances
Many lodges have children or adults dance traditional dances in costumes, for information on how to learn traditional dances, see the children's clubs page and read more page for the adults.

Midsummer
Celebrate a traditional Midsommer with a dance around the Midsommarstång. The celebaration is at Sveadal.
Valborgsmässoafton
Svea lodge in San Jose has a traditional Valborgsmässoafton celebration. With a bonfire and traditional songs. For more information, contact Svea.
Swedish Heritage Night
Join fellow Swedes for a night with the San Jose Sharks. Cheer on the Swedish players. After the game a picture with the Swedes and the Swedish players are taken on the ice.
Scandinavian Festival
All Day funfilled with Flag Ceremony, Food, Dancing, and Vendors with Scandinavian merchandise. The presentation of the flags with the singing of each national anthem for each nation in their native tongue has been a tradition from the beginning. For more information, see Facebook or the webpage.
Leif Ericsson Day
Leif Erikson Day is an observance day that is observed on October 9th to honor the Norse explorer who is believed to be the first European to have set foot in North America. Come and celebrate his discovery with us on a Saturday in October. A part of the celebration is the annual Kryddat Brännvin Championship.
Genealogy Forum
